C105 Waterfront is a Link International Properties development comprising of a 154,000 sq.m iconic mixed-use development, including two residential towers, each comprising of 28 floors, located at Navy Gate Area, Tourist Club, Abu Dhabi. The project is comprised of one common shared basement, 2 level shared podiums, shared ground floor and 25 typical floors for each tower. In addition to the basement, the project consists of a podium that accommodates various parking areas, retail facing Al Falah Street, F&B strip and townhouses above overlooking the promenade and the sea. There are also 3 floating F&B that can be reached by pontoons from the promenade.
The BMU is running on a double rail track, weighing 30 tons, featuring a standard 2-man cradle and it has a GRU capacity of 300 kg. The tracks for the machine are installed on steel upstands and clear a high parapet wall. This project presented a unique combination of challenges, with narrow passage and high parapet walls to clear, as such, a special angular jib design had to be used with a telescoping mast to ensure proper coverage of the façade. At the same time, telescoping mast allows the machine to be completely hidden while being parked.
There was significant engineering for the restraint sockets, resulting in about 800 sockets, divided into about 7 types. Aesthetic considerations were top priority, in line with the architect’s demands. It was a pleasure working on this project EWAN Consulting and Dhabi Contracting. Since 2016, ASE and Dhabi Contracting have worked very closely, cultivating a very close business and fruitful relationship. Waterfront towers are a great example of this mutually beneficial relationship.
