The BMU is a T-machine running on an double rail track, featuring a 2m hydraulic pantographic cradle and it has a GRU capacity of 250 kg. The tracks for the machine are installed on concrete pedestals. The Mast is telescopic to hide the machine in parking so that all the elevations of the building look exactly as the architect envisioned it. In this project there was a challenge of deep recesses where cradle and especially GRU couldn’t reach. To address this issue, ASE came up with a pulley system to all the GRU to be used even in the deepest recesses. There are also eye bolts installed in these deep recesses to allow abseilers to position themselves close to the façade in such a way that allows them to apply sealant for glass replacement. This 50 ton machine is successfully serving this project. One the top roof there is an area served by L brackets as it is too close to the BMU, abseilers clean that area of the façade. The machine itself runs at a working height of about 160m.

There was significant engineering for the restraint sockets, resulting in about 500 sockets, divided into about 5 types. These are carabiner type restraints, allowing ease of use and a very strong restraining action for the cradle so that it resists all the wind force as suggested by EN1808:2015
